True North Arms does not guarantee or claim/make any warranties on any lot and/or item. All items are sold “as is'' (unless otherwise stated) and are graded/rated based on appearance only. We do our best to provide accurate descriptions and fair grades/rates on items, however our grading/ratings are based solely on an opinion of the visual appearance of the item and are therefore subjective. No firearms and/or other items are tested or inspected by True North Arms. Therefore, True North Arms and any associate from TNA is not authorized or liable to make/claim any warranty/guarantee on any firearm(s) and/or item(s) verbally or in written permission. Any concerns with a firearm’s and/or item condition should be addressed to the appropriate personnel (ie. Licensed Gunsmith) before firing/using it.

Our grading system based entirely on appearance is determined by the following criteria:

10 = “like new”

1 = “very poor condition”

Ratings of firearms and/or items will be graded between 1 and 10.

If there is no grade/rate assigned to an item/lot, the item is "sold as-is" unless otherwise stated.

We are here to answer any of your questions and strongly recommend contacting us with any concerns you may have regarding the item you’re interested in before you bid. In some cases we can provide you with additional information and photos of the item prior to bidding, if and when possible. You can direct your questions to 1-866-556-AR15 or info@truenortharms.com. We’re available Monday through Thursday from 9am - 2pm EST. Our team is small, so it’s best to reach us by email.

True North Arms will not refund and/or exchange an item if it is not interpreted by the buyer as exactly what was listed in the online listing. As mentioned above, our grading/rating system for firearms and/or items are based on visual appearance and are purely subjective evaluations.

BIDDING

The purchaser will be determined as the highest bidder, and the auctioneer's decision on all matters will be considered final. In the event of a tie, the pre-bid with the earliest time stamp will be awarded the sale. It is important to note that all sales are deemed final. The sale of merchandise is conducted on an 'As Is' basis, without any recourse to the vendor. The auctioneer holds the discretion to withdraw any goods that have been advertised or displayed prior to sale.

TNA retains the authority to reject bids without the obligation to provide a reason or explanation.

It is essential to understand that bid increments are set and unchangeable for online auctions, including both the pre-bidding and maximum bid stages. However, please be aware that once the sale goes live, the Auctioneer may exercise the option to adjust the bid increments.

By placing your bid, you are acknowledging and agreeing to abide by all Terms and Conditions, including but not limited to Buyers Premium, Taxes, Shipping, and Payment methods. We strongly advise you to thoroughly read and understand these terms before proceeding with your bid.

Please be aware that bid retractions will only be entertained in situations where we have made a substantial description error or if there is a clear and evident input mistake made by the customer (e.g., $70,000.00 instead of $700).

If an item is required to be re-sold due to bidder error/negligence, the offending bidder is still required to pay the buyer’s premium, and applicable admin fees and taxes. It can also mean:

  • Item will be sold to NIL (next bidder in line, runner up)

  • Item will be listed in next upcoming auction

  • Bidder may be barred/banned from future bidding

If it becomes necessary to resell a lot to a back bidder, you will be held accountable for the discrepancy between your bid and theirs, in addition to being subject to a $50 administration fee, buyers premium, and taxes. Please feel free to reach out to info@truenortharms.com before placing your bid if you have any inquiries.

CONSIGNOR BIDDING

It is strictly prohibited for consignors to place bids on their own items or to have someone else bid on their behalf. It is within our prerogative to retract any items or bids made by the consignor in question. We would like to emphasize that our consignors receive payment based on the hammer price, thus, we will exert every effort to minimize any adverse impact on True North Arms Auctions.

HOW TO PLACE AN ABSENTEE BID

You can do Absentee Bidding right on the True North Arms website itself, even before the auction starts. Just find a lot that catches your eye and place your bid on the lot page.

If you'd rather go old school and place an Absentee Bid over the phone with us, instead of bidding online, go for it - we’re here to help you do just that during our regular business hours!

Shoot an email over to info@truenortharms.com and make sure to drop your name and a phone number where we can reach you. Our awesome team will give you a buzz to get your bid and credit card details sorted out over the phone. Just a heads up, we need at least 5 business days notice for any requests before the auction starts. After that, our staff will not be available to take absentee bids.

FYI, there's a 15% Buyers Premium for Absentee Bids too.

Please note that we do not provide telephone bidding services during our auction events, and it is not available.

RESERVES:

Unless otherwise indicated, items in auctions are being sold without reserve. If an item has a reserve, you will be notified after placing your bid if you are under or have met the reserve.

FIREARMS & AMMUNITION PURCHASES

All purchases of firearms and ammunition require a P.A.L (Possession and Acquisition License).

Purchases of restricted and/or prohibited items are required to be registered with the Canadian Firearms Program and are transferred to the purchaser once the sale’s transaction is completed and we receive full payment. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaser to know if they have the correct level of PAL holder for their intended purchase. We will not issue refunds and/or do exchanges for errors if the bidder/purchaser fails to provide proper documentation for their purchase and/or fails to purchase an item they cannot legally own. Do your homework before you bid!

Bidders will require a valid PAL for all purchases of non-restricted, restricted, prohibited category firearms and ammunition and reloading components.

PAL info we need: full correct name as shown on your PAL, PAL number, date of birth, and the email address associated with your RCMP portal login, and the mailing address that is associated with your PAL.

When entering your PAL information, PLEASE ENSURE IT IS CORRECT.

If you made a mistake on your account and you have not bid yet, please contact us to correct it by sending us an email to info@truenortharms.com

If you made a mistake and already made your bid and won, but require your documents to be restarted due to an error on your part, you will be charged a $25 administrative fee per lot.

Failure to provide valid PAL can result in the item being sold at the next available opportunity, and applicable commission and administrative fees will be applied to your credit card. This can also mean: if you’re unable to submit your documentation to us within the specified timeline, your order may be delayed its processing and shipment, you may be charged storage fees and administrative fees, and/or your item may be resold at the next opportunity and you will be charged applicable commission fees.

PAL REFERENCE NUMBER REQUEST AND PROCESS

When buying a gun or ammo we’ll need to obtain a reference number from the RCMP to validate your license before we ship it to you or start the transfer. This reference number is valid for 90 days from the date it is initiated and is solely for the seller (TNA) and the buyer (you).

In order to obtain a PAL reference number request you must provide us with the following information: Full correct name as shown on your PAL, PAL number, date of birth, and the email address associated with your RCMP portal login, and the mailing address that is associated with your PAL.

In relation to the PAL reference number request, we are also required to confirm your PAL validity by viewing the PAL I.D as well as one other piece of Government photo I.D.

If you’re the winning bidder of a non-restricted firearm lot, we’ll send you a follow up email requesting you submit to us photos of your PAL and Gov. ID (front and back). We will need to see and verify this information prior to shipping. This process is secure and safe, and we do not store your information on our systems, therefore any additional uploads will have to be completed for every lot’s shipment.

It is mandatory that the bidder’s shipping address for all firearms and ammunition purchases corresponds to the bidder's address on file with the CFO, and this address should also match the one used during registration for this auction.

Firearms and ammunition cannot be shipped together. In such cases if firearms and ammunition are won/purchased by the same bidder/purchaser, the bidder/purchaser will be required to pay shipping for each separate package.

Shipment of restricted and prohibited firearms is only authorized once the transfer has been approved. Firearms transfer will start when the firearm is paid for in full (not including shipping).

If you’re buying ammo, make sure there is a UPS depot near/in your community. UPS has multiple restricted zones across Canada that include many rural areas. Check with your local area before you bid, or contact us for assistance info@truenortharms.com in determining if we can ship to your postal code BEFORE the auction begins. We will not refund and/or exchange your purchase if the item was undeliverable to your address due your postal code being in a restricted zone. In such cases, your credit card will also be charged for the applicable return delivery, handling, and administrative fees.

NOT bidding on firearms or ammunition (or controlled goods) you can bypass the PAL license requirement when registering by entering all 0’s (00000000) in the firearms license field.

Bidding on firearms or ammo - you are required to accurately provide your PAL information at registration.

ADMINISTRATIVE FEES & SUPPORT

In order to maintain efficient operations and provide fair and equal treatment for our customers and staff, it is necessary for us to implement administrative policies and their associated fees where applicable. Fees may incur on your invoice and/or charged to your credit card if you fail to follow our Terms & Conditions, policies and protocols.

If you made an error on your bidder account during registration and you have not bid yet and/or the auction has not begun yet, please contact us by email at info@truenortharms.com for assistance. We’re here to help!

If you have made an error on your bidder account and you have already placed a bid and/or the auction has begun, and/or you're the winning bidder, if and when it is possible we will assist you. Depending on what error is made, you may incur additional fees to rectify the problem. TNA does not guarantee we can rectify the problem in time before automated charges occur OR the auction closes. This means, if documents are required to be restarted due to an error on the bidder’s part, the bidder may be charged a $25 administrative fee per lot.

Administrative fees may be charged to a bidder’s account for the following reasons:

  • Failure to provide proper identification

  • Failure to provide proper PAL

  • Failure to submit documentation within specified timeline

  • And other situations where the bidder/purchaser’s error or negligence results in our team to perform tasks that are otherwise not necessary.

To avoid issues, we encourage you to read our terms and conditions carefully BEFORE registering and/or bidding, and to view them occasionally as they may change in the future. There are also some features on your Bidder Account profile that you can update/edit from your personal device such as contact information, updating payment methods etc.

If you must contact us to help you with your bidder account please reach out to us as soon as possible so we can get things sorted out for you.

TNA would like to make it clear that the auction and/or auction portal and/or payment methods may have some pre-programmed automations that are triggered at specific times and sequences. These features cannot be altered once they are in motion. This means that not all issues can be rectified in a timely manner due to these pre-set automations.

We would like to kindly mention that our team is small, and we do our best to respond to all inquiries within a timely manner, but this does not guarantee that we can answer your questions or update/fix your account in time for an auction and/or bid you are interested in.

WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR REQUESTS THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO MEET, OR THAT COME IN AFTER THE DEADLINE.

We also kindly request that you refrain from dispensing instructions or in-depth information on our voicemail system, as they will not be acted upon. Sending us an email to (info@truenortharms.com) is the best way to speak to someone from our team.

Please be aware that due to the significant number of orders and emails we do receive, there may be delays in our response to your email. However, we assure you that we will make every effort to promptly handle your order and redirect it to the relevant personnel if and when necessary.
